Petals & Thread is a fashion zine that draws attention to the overwhelming unsustainable and environmentally hazardous practices that plague the fashion industry. Fast fashion consumes contemporary wardrobes. There is little focus on the longevity of fabric, rather producing items to keep up with the rapidly developing fashion trends. Hasty production harbors unsafe environmental practices and toxic work conditions, and degrades the quality of the final garment snatched up by the unaware customer. My magazine uses poems about environmental degradation to draw parallels between the illustrious fashion industry and the decaying world.
