Emma Estes is a creative director and special effects makeup artist from New York. She developed a love for makeup after getting acne in the 7th grade… Emma went from putting dots of concealer all over her face to designing complex fictional characters that have become the essence of her photographic work. In her most recent project, 1.5° Celsius she uses her SFX makeup skills to design and execute five characters that have mutated to the future consequences of global climate change. Narratives exploring environmental injustice are a reoccurring theme throughout Emma’s work and can be seen in the “Projects” tab.

Emma recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, earring a BFA in Photography and Imaging with a second major in Urban Design and Architecture Studies.
